September 2, 2018–Glendale, Wis.–Wisconsin author Lora Hyler will introduce Illinois book lovers to her middle grade novel at three separate events in Chicagoland. The Stupendous Adventures of Mighty Marty Hayes features a 12-year-old African-American superhero and a multicultural cast of friends, who work on CRISPR-Cas9 in their 7th grade advanced science classroom, and share a love of spy gadgets.
Media outlets have called The Stupendous Adventures of Mighty Marty Hayes ‘Black Panther meets Harry Potter.’ “It’s only fitting that I continue to tour Illinois and surrounding states, building on the excitement of my debut novel expressed at the inaugural Wakandacon, held in early August in downtown Chicago,” said author Lora Hyler. “I love meeting kids who love science fiction and fantasy, as well as science, and the spy gadgets and history sprinkled throughout my novel keeps things moving.”
The bookstore and book fair visits are part of a planned five-state book tour of WI, Ill, IND, MI and Ohio spanning the months of September and October.
