November 12, 2018–Glendale, Wis.–Wisconsin author Lora Hyler will introduce Science fiction/fantasy book lovers to her middle grade novel at noon on Saturday, December 8 at Barnes and Noble, 2225 Georgia Avenue, NW, Washington, DC.
The Stupendous Adventures of Mighty Marty Hayes features a 12-year-old African-American superhero and a multicultural cast of friends, who work on CRISPR-Cas9 in their 7th grade advanced science classroom, and share a love of spy gadgets.
Media outlets have called The Stupendous Adventures of Mighty Marty Hayes ‘Black Panther meets Harry Potter.’ “It’s only fitting that I continue my tour in Washington, DC, and the campus of Howard University, alma mater of Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther). Since my novel’s release in March 2018, I’ve toured parts of the west coast and Midwest, and participated in the inaugural Wakandacon, held in early August in downtown Chicago,” said author Lora Hyler. “I love meeting kids who love science fiction and fantasy, as well as science, and the spy gadgets and history sprinkled throughout my novel keeps things moving.”
